Learning at SBC - Teaching & Learning - Young Adulthood

During Years 10-12, students’ aspirations for life beyond school need to become clear before they turn into reality. To facilitate the holistic development of our students, the College incorporates such activities as the Choices and Challenge Days, Individual Education Programs, Career Expo, visits from all Universities and other tertiary and post compulsory educational providers, Leadership camps, Retreat and Reflection days, Driver Education.

In this phase, girls have a strong sense of their own strengths, interests and goals. They play a major role in determining the decisions that affect their lives and in shaping their learning experiences. They have a developing sense of themselves as active players who have some responsibility for the direction of community life, and are often concerned about major social and environment issues and the ethical implications of human activity and knowledge.

Curricula and courses of study are influenced by the use of more formal assessment, such as external examinations, the need for nationally recognised accreditation and certification and the post school dreams students have for themselves.
