Pre-primary is an exciting year that starts with children focussing on “Special Me” and learning how everyone is different but very special with our own gifts.
Around Easter children learn about new life, through fun activities such as an Easter egg hunt around the playground and a visit from Farmer Wendy’s little baby animals.
An excursion may provide children with the opportunity to observe sea creatures and perform experiments with water. Children enjoy being scientists observing and recording what they see.
Children may prepare a liturgy on the creation of our world, learning to pray, sing and dance, or they may become astronauts to learn about the planets and the importance of the sun or pretend to be fire fighters, police, dentists or doctors and nurses as they look at different people and the work they do.
With all these varied activities the year is soon over and Christmas celebrations begin by looking at traditions from different cultures and practising for the end of year play.
