Year Nine is a time for challenges, for testing boundaries, taking calculated risks and assisting girls to strive for excellence in all that they do, not just for themselves but also for the service of others. Reflection and discussion during Religious Education classes provide girls time to develop their thoughts, attitudes and values about important life issues and their place in the world
Following is a sample of some of the activities that our Year Nine students participate in as the year unfolds:

Year 8 and 9 students have the opportunity to attend two socials during the year. One is a combined Middle School event, while the other is year group based. Both functions are held with our brother school Mazenod College.

Camp is an exciting and holistic educational experience. Students are challenged to participate in different activities. These activities aim to develop a positive self perception, courage, teamwork and confidence.

A range of incursions and excursions occur during the school year to build upon the holistic development which takes place in a typical classroom.

This innovative program introduces students to situations and social issues that will expand their knowledge and give them practical ways to learn about, and contribute to their local and global community.

Personal and Social Development is a fantastic course offered to Year 9 students. This course builds and shapes their goal setting, motivation, study, interpersonal and team building skills. Possible career options are also investigated.

Students are strongly encouraged to do their best as their achievement in each subject will have a heavy impact on the range of choices available to students in the following year. With the assistance of the College Careers and Transition Officer and teachers girls begin to investigate links between their interests and achievements with possible vocational aspirations. In this way, and with the help of her parents, by Term Four each girl has the beginning of a unique learning pathway plan towards her goals.
