Mathematics is an integral part of the world we live in and its delivery, particularly in the last 10 years or so, has gone through considerable change.
At St Brigid’s, students engage in Mathematics in various ways including:
- activity-based, hands-on lessons
- graphics calculator-based lessons
- Internet activities
- Teacher directed lessons.
This approach ensures each concept is taught in the most appropriate manner, meeting the developmental needs and aptitudes of students, thereby maintaining student interest and maximising the level of comprehension.
Students also have the opportunity to consolidate and extend their skills through school activities such as:
- Participation in the Maths Club (which runs 3.30 – 4.30 on a Tuesday afternoon)
- Experimentation in a well-equipped Mathematics laboratory.
